Are MFDA Advisors Missing Out On ETFs

Today, there is an article in Advisor.ca, which discusses the range of investment options available for MFDA Investment Advisors, with a focus on ETFs, in servicing their clients.  To read this article, click here.

I was one of the wealth management industry professionals interviewed for this article in which I briefly reviewed the key elements to consider if an MFDA Advisor is seeking to migrate their practice to an IIROC platform as well as the types of investment solutions needed to effectively service affluent & high net worth families.

Having worked in MFDA, IIROC & Investment Counselling/Portfolio Management firms, I believe that the right decision for an Advisor really depends upon the range of solutions that they’re looking to deliver to their clients, which is ultimately determined by the end investor client needs.

For MFDA & Insurance Advisors looking to deliver investment solutions to affluent families (ie: families with investable assets of at least $1 – $5 Million) it can be very challenging as their firms – with the exception of a few large organizations – typically don’t have either the types of investment solutions demanded by affluent families, nor the investment counselling services to support their practice.  It is for this reason that HighView created the HighView Partners Program

By acting as their outsourced Chief Investment Officer, the HighView Partners Program provides our discretionary asset management services to the clients of a select group of professional practice & advisory firms, in partnership with them, through either a formalized referral program or an integrated co-branded offering.

The HighView services provided to these clients are a completely objective investment counselling proposition using a focused multiple mandate/manager offering, based upon a goals-based approach to portfolio construction, that is specifically tailored for both Private Clients and Institutions (ie: foundations, endowments and private pension plans) and stewarded with a fiduciary mindset.
